Congratulations to undergraduates Michelle Dalton and Rizka Ongge, who found out today that their grant proposals to Oregon Tech's Resource Budget Commission were funded! Michelle is working with Dr. Byrne and Dr. Usher to using new molecular techniques to [hopefully] identify the obligate mycorrhizae species associated with Applegate's milkvetch. Rizka is working with Dr. Byrne to continue and expand her pollination biology study from last summer to determine the reproductive success of Applegate's milkvetch with pollinators and when pollinators are excluded.  We all thank the Resource Budget Committee for funding these important projects related to the conservation of this Federally Endangered plant species.
